1. Purpose & Scope
VCF Designer is a planning and documentation aid for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) infrastructure. It is designed to assist qualified IT professionals in creating indicative infrastructure designs, sizing estimates, and planning documentation.
The tool produces indicative outputs intended for planning purposes only. Outputs generated by VCF Designer are not certified designs and should not be treated as such. All designs should be reviewed and validated by qualified professionals before implementation.
2. Design Output Disclaimer
All outputs produced by VCF Designer — including but not limited to architecture diagrams, sizing calculations, bill-of-materials documents, and configuration recommendations — are indicative planning aids provided on an “as is” basis.
- No warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose is provided.
- Outputs are not a substitute for professional VCDX, VCP, or equivalent certified design services.
- Numerical precision in calculations does not imply accuracy. All figures are approximations based on generalised assumptions.
- Users are solely responsible for validating all outputs against their specific requirements before any procurement or implementation decisions.
3. Financial Estimates
All pricing, licensing, and cost estimates presented within VCF Designer are indicative only and do not constitute quotations, offers, or binding price commitments.
- Estimates are based on publicly available Broadcom list prices at the time of tool development and may not reflect current pricing.
- Actual costs will vary based on licensing agreements, volume discounts, regional pricing, partner margins, and other factors.
- VCF Designer and its operators accept no liability for procurement or purchasing decisions made based on estimates generated by the tool.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- VCF Designer, its operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of the tool or reliance on its outputs.
- Total aggregate liability for any direct damages shall not exceed the greater of (a) the fees paid by the user in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) five hundred US dollars (USD $500).
- The user assumes all risk associated with the implementation of designs, configurations, and recommendations derived from tool outputs.
5. Data Privacy
VCF Designer is designed with a privacy-first architecture:
- All design data is stored locally in the user’s browser (localStorage and IndexedDB). No design data is transmitted to or stored on external servers.
- Users have full control over their data and may delete it at any time by clearing browser storage.
- No analytics, telemetry, or behavioural tracking is performed within the design tool.

6. Intellectual Property
- Users retain full ownership of all designs, documents, and outputs they create using VCF Designer.
- The VCF Designer tool, including its source code, algorithms, user interface, and documentation, is proprietary and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
- References to third-party products, trademarks, and brand names (including VMware, Broadcom, and others) are used solely for identification and interoperability purposes. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
7. Acceptable Use
By using VCF Designer, you agree to the following conditions:
- The tool is intended for professional use by qualified IT infrastructure professionals.
- You will not misrepresent outputs generated by the tool as certified, validated, or professionally endorsed designs.
- You will not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the tool.
- You will not use the tool to produce materials that are misleading, fraudulent, or in violation of any applicable laws.
8. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Cyprus.
Nothing in these terms shall affect your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable European Union consumer protection legislation.
